Steven Ralph Thorn, 46, passed away from a sudden heart episode on Friday, May 25, 2018, at his residence. He was born on November 30, 1971 in Detroit, MI, to Ralph F. and Nancy J. (Schmidt) Thorn. On December 18, 1999 in Brighton, MI, Steve married the former Christine M. Quaine, his loving wife of eighteen years, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by his daughters, Lilly J. Thorn and Gracie Thorn; his father, Ralph F. (Susan) Thorn of Brighton, MI; sisters, Ann (Michael) Skalski of Pinckney, MI; Karen (John) Kaley of Novi, MI; Deborah (Andy) Lickert of Ann Arbor, MI; step-sister, Elizabeth (Lawrence) Stunson of Flint Township, MI; step-brother, Frank Norton of Ypsilanti, MI; mother-in-law, Linda Quaine of Fruitport, MI; sister-in-law, Kelly (Mark) Stevens of Charlotte, NC; brother-in-law, Dan (Erin) Quaine of Norton Shores, MI; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Steve was preceded in death by his mother as well as his father-in-law, Timothy Quaine. Steve was employed at Gordon Food Service for ten years and then at Troyer Foods for the past year and a half.

He has resided in Osceola for the past 13 years. He attended Granger Community Church. Steve’s greatest joys in life were spending time with his beautiful girls.

He enjoyed their school field trips, dances, and especially their time together on the sports fields. He had an amazing love for his wife, children, and friends—and of course, “the boys”. He has left a love in our hearts that will never be forgotten.

Funeral services for Steven will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, May 29th as well as one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Steven may be donated to American Red Cross, 3220 E. Jefferson Blvd, South Bend, IN 46615.

Contributions may also be made to an educational fund for his children, by sending donations to Thorn Family c/o Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Online condolences may be left for the Thorn family at www. palmerfuneralhomes.com.
