Michael Wayne Robertson, Sr. January 14, 1956 – April 17, 2018 Michael Wayne Robertson, Sr., age 62, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away at 10:27 am on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana. Michael worked as a pressman for the South Bend Tribune for 43 years. Michael was born on January 14, 1956 in Nashville, Tennessee to Elmer Robertson, Sr. and Gladys V. Coffee Robertson.

Michael is survived by his children, Michaela (Katarri Edwards) Robertson, Michael Wayne (Brandy) Robertson, Jr., Cary (Bethany) Gillam, William Gillam, Sr. and their mother, Deborah Gillam all of South Bend; and grandchildren, Logan Kamau, Maizen Gillam, Isley Gillam, Lennox Gillam, Tiara Kay Gillam, William Gillam, Jr., Carol Mitchell and Shawntrell Gillam; his father, Elmer Robertson, Sr. of Wakarusa; sisters, Jackie (Patrick) Starnes of Nashville, TN, Dennetta Curl and Paulette Robertson both of South Bend; and brothers, Elmer Robertson, Jr. of Denver, CO and Don (Elizabeth) Robertson, Sr. of Wakarusa. Also left to cherish his memory are his special friends, Dallas Patterson, Tony Gary, Steve Smith, Harold Palmer, Leon Scott and Andy M. Harris, Sr. Michael enjoyed cooking on the grill and loved sports. He was very good at softball and bowling and enjoyed playing basketball.

Michael was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Minnesota Vikings and the LA Lakers. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, April 25th at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. , South Bend, where friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am until time of services on Wednesday.

Elder Patrick Starnes will officiate. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.
