Steven M. Tschida, 59 years old, passed away on Friday morning, April 20, 2018 at the home of his mother, Betty. Steven was born on April 22, 1958 in South Bend to Frederick M. and Betty (Verduin) Tschida. His father, Frederick, preceded him in death.

Steven was united in marriage to the former Barbara Dunn who survives. Steven is survived by his mother, Betty Tschida; three sisters, Diane (Marc) Laudeman of Bremen, Kathy (Michael) Baier of Marietta, GA, and Julie (Greg) Youngs of Plymouth; two brothers, David (Nanette) Tschida of Grand Rapids, MI and Gary (Karla) Tschida of Kennesaw, GA; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Steven was a graduate of Riley High School, Class of 1976, and a member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Terre Haute.

He was raised in South Bend and was living in Terre Haute for the past several years. A celebration of Steven’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Pastor David Schrader from Grace United Methodist Church will officiate.

Friends may visit with the family from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Steven M. Tschida may be donated to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202. Online condolences may be offered to the Tschida family at www.
