James “Sammy” Bowlin October 11, 1958 – February 18, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card James “Sammy” Bowlin, 60, of Smithdale, MS. , passed away on February 18, 2019 at the McComb Nursing and Rehab Center in McComb. Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2019 from 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb.

Dr. John Moody and Bro. Eric Moak will officiate and burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery in McCall Creek, MS. Sammy was born on October 11, 1958 in New Orleans, LA.

He is the son of James P. and Mattie McGehee Bowlin. He worked for Loftlin Bros. Oil Company and for J.P. Bowlin General Constructions as a carpenter and was a member of Mt.

Olive Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and spending his time outdoors. He loved his grandkids dearly and always cracked jokes.

He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his parents, his loving wife, Dorcus Bowlin of Smithdale, one son, Cortez Bowlin of Hoover, one daughter, Nicole McAllister of Smithdale, one sister, Becky Moody (John) of McKinley, two grandchildren, one niece, Ashley Hardin (Wes) and their daughter, Avery.
