Obituary for James Burton James Thomas Burton, 87, of Grayson, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his residence. He was born April 18, 1931 in Olive Hill a son of the late Sherman and Vada May Adkins Burton. He was a Christian and had worked as a claims adjuster with the Shelter Insurance Company of Lexington, KY.

He proudly served his Country with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Underwood Burton, and a brother, Carl Burton. He is survived by three sons; James Thomas (Tanya) Burton II , Jason Tyrone (Regina) Burton, and Joshua Thurston/Sherman Burton all of Grayson; a daughter, Jehdina Taye Slusher of Grayson ; two brothers, Manlus Burton of Lexington, KY, and Lowell Burton of Collinsville, IL; three sisters, Elizabeth Jones of Lexington, KY, Lois Carroll, and Faye McDowell both of Olive Hill, KY; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Cayla, Jimmy, Holly, Gabriella, Taylor, Blake, and Dalaina; six great -grandchildren and his “Sunshine”.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Burton Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
