Love, Jr. 80, of Lower Paxton Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Fox Subacute, Mechanicsburg. He was born in Williamsport, PA on December 19, 1938, the son of James and Dorothy Allen Love. He graduated from Williamsport H.S. in 1956 and Keystone Jr. College in 1958.

Jim was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army (1958-1961) serving most of his tour in Okinawa. He and his young family moved to Harrisburg in 1961 when he began his 37 year career with AMP Inc., retiring in 1998. He was a volunteer with the Paxtang Fire Co. and President from 1967-1971.

He was a member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Paxtang. A devoted family man, he set the bar high, but with love. Hobbies included fishing and sailing at Eagles Mere Lake, photography, Volksmarching, traveling the U.S., and visiting wineries.

Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jacquelyn, three children; James Love, III (Karen) of Chambers Hill, Laura Decker (Mark) of Alpharetta, GA, and Jennifer Love of Enola; three sisters: Barbara (Paul) Rothfuss, Mary (Ronald, deceased) Gower, and Deborah (Steven) Volpe; nine grandchildren: Blaine Love, Jennifer Love-Timpko, Amanda Whitcomb, Ryan, Daniel, and Kevin Dunkleberger, Allison, Kristen, and Michelle Decker, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Susan (Edward) Kottcamp. A Celebration Of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3700 Rutherford St., Paxtang.

Visitation and a reception will follow in the church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date. The family thanks the staff at The Fox Center for the compassionate care given our loved one for so many months.
