James’ Obituary James Wesley Duke, 83, of Wichita Falls, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas. The family will receive friends between 7 and 8 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, with Pastor Larry Shields, officiating.

Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. A son of the late Harvey Vincent and Ida Beatrice (Rimmer) Duke, James was born on June 20, 1935 in Terral, Oklahoma. He was a longtime member of the Sunrise Optimist Club, the Carpenter’s Union, the North Texas Pond Association, and the Faith Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed going hunting, and in his early years, James enjoyed being involved in his children’s lives from serving as Boy Scout Leader to coaching baseball. James loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Stubblefield) Duke; his great-granddaughter, Brinley Hale; and four sisters.

He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Kay Hale and husband James of Fort Worth; his son, John Duke and wife Kimberlee of Wichita Falls; three brothers, Clifford Duke and wife Patsy of Terral, Oklahoma, Cecil Duke and wife Maryloo of Ringgold, and Tommy Duke of Jacksonville, Texas; two sisters, Linda Duke of Sunset, and Debra Webb and husband Larry of Missouri; five grandchildren, Jennifer Wheeland and husband Jose, Cody Hale and wife Paeton, Jeremy Duke and wife Raechel, Jordan Duke and wife Ashley, and Krista Moriera and husband Felipe; eleven great-grandchildren, Jamie, Joseph, J’Lynn, Corbin, Khloe, Stella, Amos, Aaron, Allie, Scarlet, and Willa; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
