OBITUARY Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg 403 Seventh Street, Parkersburg WV 26101. James E. Goodwin, 91, of Washington, WV passed away July 7, 2018 at his residence. He was born on August 12, 1926 in Charleston, WV a son of the late James H. and Elva F. Goodwin.

James worked as a foreman in Delrin at E.I. DuPont and retired after 43 years of service. He had attended church in Charleston at Woodward Woods Mission for many years. He enjoyed calling and teaching square dances and founded The Stardusters, a local square dancing club.

He also liked bowling, remodeling an old river house, was an avid WVU basketball and football fan and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. James was a consummate family man, well known for his constant presence at local youth sports venues cheering on his grandkids and area sports teams. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Gloria E. (Miller) Goodwin; daughter Deborah Wigal of Parkersburg; grandchildren James M. Wigal (Annette) of Lanesville, IN, Dr. Timothy Wigal (Julie) of Hebron, OH, Paige Windland (Ryan) of Washington, and Dustin Wigal (Cassidy Keller) of Lancaster, OH; greatgrandchildren Ridley and Monty Wigal, Ella and Lydia Wigal, and Sidney, Annalynn and Luke Windland; as well as several nieces and nephews in the Charleston area.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his daughter Donna Jean Goodwin and sister Almalee Goff. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and Parkersburg Care Center for their compassion and care. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 10, 2018, 1:00 pm at the Tyler Mountain Cemetery, Charleston, WV, with Dr. Richard Fisher officiating.
