James Lee Christopher, 70, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at his home in Salisbury, NC. He was born February 1, 1948 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Guy and Betty Harris Christopher. James was a 1967 graduate of Boyden High School, he was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War.

James worked for Permaflex for over 20 years, retiring as a Supervisor and then for Team Chevrolet for over 10 years as a shuttle driver. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, taxidermy, gardening, canning, and making wine. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Lunsford and Susan James, brother, Kenneth Christopher; and daughter-in-law, Julie Stirewalt Christopher.

James is survived by his wife, Linda Gail Christopher, whom he married December 5, 1969; sons, James Aaron Christopher of Landis, and Jason Alan Christopher of Salisbury; grandson, James Emmitt Christopher; and sister, Marsha Belk of Kannapolis. The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 1:00 pm -1:45 pm at Life Church of Salisbury 708 Jake Alexander Blvd. W, Salisbury, NC 28147.

The memorial service will be held at on Thursday January 3, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Life Church, with Pastor Chris Shelton, officiating. Entombment will take place in the Salisbury National Cemetery on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 10:00 am with the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard and the National Guard providing Military Graveside Rites. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979 or to the American Diabetes Association PO Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
