The adored mother of two beautiful children, Jamie Howell Reese, has been reunited with her family in heaven on March 25th, 2019. She was born on June 14th, 1968 in Ogden, Utah to Kathy and Roland Brent. Jamie was married on February 3rd, 1989 to Matt Reese in Roy, Utah.

Their honey moon was spent in her favorite place on earth, Disneyland California. Jamie, being only, 5’ 4” may have been small in stature, but her strength made her taller than life. She was faced with many challenges during her time on earth.

Jamie and Matt divorced December 3rd, 2004, leaving her a single parent with two young girls. She didn’t see this as a burden, but more a blessing. During this time of vulnerability, she found herself turning to opioids (as many do) as a form of relief.

Unfortunately, this led to a bigger issue, addiction. She fought for years and relied on friends and family for strength. In 2010, after a long six-year battle, Jamie had won her battle with addiction.

This year marked her nine-year anniversary. Despite adversity, priority never shifted from her daughters, Ashlee and Cassidy. Her children are out-standing examples of her achievements, being a mother.

Jamie’s family’s most cherished memories will always be her love for dogs (specifically Labrador Retrievers), Disney vacations, Christmas mornings, and her sugary sweet-tooth. The final years of Jamie’s life was filled with much happiness. Jamie’s beloved boyfriend, Ron, provided her with solace, comfort, and genuine companionship.

Nothing brought her more happiness than the ability to participate in planning her youngest daughter’s wedding, set for June 1st, 2019. Jamie was most known for the unconditional love shared with others. Two of her most notable careers were at Rocky Mountain Women’s Health (OB/GYN) and Rocky Mountain Care.

Jamie’s smile and spirit made the energy of her workplace come to life. Her fondest memories will remain in the hearts of all the patients she touched. She was preceded by her father Roland “Brent” Howell, brother Kevin Howell, grandparents on mother’s side Kathrine and Wayne Purrington, and grandmother of father’s side Ethel Barton.

Jamie is survived by her two daughters, Ashlee Urry and Cassidy Reese; loving boyfriend Ronald Perkes; admiring sons-in-laws, Ian Urry and Cody Baptist; parents Kathy and Dave Hohenshild; and man’s best friend “Boobie” aka Copper. A celebration of life will be held Monday, April 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Hills Ward, 2300 N. University Park Blvd. , Layton.

Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, West Point Cemetery.

She will be dearly missed, but not long forgotten. As Jamie used to tell her girls, “I love you more than the sun, the moon, the stars, and waaay more than chocolate”.
