Ruth Moss Johnson Ruth Moss Johnson passed away at the Beehive Home on March 20, 2019 in Lehi, Utah. She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Zelma Bell West and John Joel Moss on January 31, 1938. She grew up in Ririe, Idaho and enjoyed life on the dry farm with her brothers and sisters; Joel, Reed, Helen, and Rhea.

She always spoke fondly of her parents and siblings. She loved them, their spouses, and children all very much. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Australia and earned her degree in education from BYU.

She married Donald David Johnson on March 15, 1963 in the Idaho Falls Temple. She loved her husband dearly. With his quick wit & good nature he brought her life a lot of happiness and laughter.

She loved his family; his parents, sister Barbara (Kenny) and their children. Don was a creative architect. She supported his dreams and they built a round house made of concrete in Bountiful and lived there for many years until health challenges required a new location.

Their round house was where many extended family parties were held and many fond memories made, with Ruth as the perfect hostess. A part she played very well. She & Don raised their family in the round house, her son Gregg and three daughters, Cynthia, Holly, and Heather.

She was a loving mother and devoted wife. She was a beloved educator. She taught kindergarten and then worked many years at Millcreek Jr. High.

She loved music and could often be found playing on the beautiful, old piano she inherited from her parents. She loved the hymns, primary songs, and music from classic musicals. Her and Don’s special song was “True Love” from High Society.

It was perfectly fitting for the kind of love they had for each other. They started out as sweethearts and that never changed. We celebrate their very happy reunion.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was evident in the choices she made. She was diligent in doing what was right.

She set an example of great faithfulness to her children. She taught them to pray and have faith and that families are forever. She served faithfully in every calling she had.

She sang in the choir and served in the temple. She loved serving a local mission with Don as hosts of the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. At a much too early age she developed Alzheimer’s disease and slowly but surely lost her ability to communicate.

It was heartbreaking for her family, but even with Alzheimer’s she set a beautiful example of what matters most. She was loving and kind. She was known at the Beehive home, where her last years were spent, as the resident who always smiled and was always sweet and kind.

No surprise to those who knew and loved her. Ruth is survived by her son Gregg; daughters, Cynthia (Todd) Abo, Holly (Justin) Reed, Heather (LeGrand) Rowley; ten grandchildren, Porter and Lincoln Trapp, Christian, Kalin, Kai, Covey, Cache and Kalia Abo; and Hope and Haven Johnson as well as her brother Reed (Elizabeth) Moss. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2016.

We express our deepest gratitude for all those who so kindly cared for her these past few years; the staff who were a part of her care at the Beehive Home, the many kind people from Elevation Hospice, and her neighbors, family, and friends. We are so very grateful. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Mon, March 25, 2019 at the LDS Chapel at 165 S 1000 E, Bountiful, UT.

Viewings will be held Sun, March 24th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N 400 E and from 12:30-1:30 pm prior to services. Interment Lakeview Memorial Estates, Bountiful, UT.
