Terry A Maw , August 22, 1950 — March 15, 2019

Terry Adair Maw passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on March 15, 2019. Terry was born on August 22, 1950 to Hal Randolph Adair and Janice Meredith Hofhiens, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the 3rd of five daughters.

Her father was a police officer and her mother was a nurse. Her family lived in Rose Park, Seattle, and Ogden before finally settling in Roy. She graduated from Roy High School in 1969.

She married Douglas K. Brown on November 25, 1970 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were blessed with five children. They later divorced.

Terry then married James A. Maw on February 14, 1988, which added six more children to her family. They were later sealed in the Bountiful Temple on September 16, 1997. Throughout her life, Terry spent time living in Utah, Washington, California, Wyoming, Singapore, and Alaska.

She was a devote member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings. She loved serving as the Young Women’s President, Primary President, doing Temple and Family History work, and being a Temple Baptistery worker. Terry also had many hobbies.

She loved reading, sewing, cooking, canning, playing volleyball, enjoying the sun, but most of all gardening. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her sisters. Terry had a special bond with her sisters and they shared many adventures together.

Terry is survived by her children: Aaron (Misty) Brown, Jennifer (Brett) von Gemmingen, Amy (Andy) Madsen, Jillian (Parker) Burrup, and Jared (Amber) Brown. Her stepchildren: Todd (Deena) Maw, Jamie Maw, Jonika (Jeremy) Martin, Jaron Maw, Jeree (Brandon) Greenwood, and Julie Elmer. Terry has 45 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and four fabulous sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James A Maw (husband), and Kaitlynn Eryn Brown (granddaughter). The family would like to thank Alpha and Omega Hospice, Comfort Worx Hospice, and Rocky Mountain Care Center for taking such good care of their mother. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the ChrisSam Meadows Ward building, 315 E. 2200 S. Clearfield, Utah.

Friends may visit with family Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd.
