Nola Mae Jorgensen December 20, 1937 ~ March 11, 2019 Nola Mae Jorgensen, 81, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at her home. She was born December 20, 1937 in Hinckley, Utah to John Calvin Hansen and Susie Arzella Dutson Hansen. She was the fifth of nine children.

She graduated from Richfield High School in 1956. On August 18, 1956, Nola married Norman Walter Jorgensen in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was sealed in the Manti Temple in 1966.

He preceded her in death March 3, 2014. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and Roy Historical Society.

Nola was an accomplished artist and displayed her work at many galleries in Utah. She also taught several art students. She was Roy’s citizen of the year in 1991 for her work with the Roy Historical Society and establishing the annual Roy Art Exhibition at Roy Days.

She was known for her love of grilled cheese sandwiches. When her children were young she would take them for a daily drive and a Coke. Her family will miss her very much.

Nola is survived by her children, Walter (Angie) Jorgensen, Chris Jorgensen, four grandchildren, Ashley Gurling, Erin Lowery, Andreas Jorgensen, Lillie Jorgensen, three great-grandchildren, Adeline Gurling, Wesley Gurling, Stephen Lowery and one on the way. Also survived by three brothers, LeVoy (Kathy, deceased) Hansen, John (Suzanne) Hansen, Randy (Marie) Hansen, and one sister, Delores (Clinton) Searle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, and four sisters, Evona, Betty, Barbara and Marlene.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Roy 10th Ward, 3100 West 5900 South. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
