Dennis O Dorrity October 31, 1950 ~ March 12, 2019 Dennis O Dorrity, 68, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. He was born in Ogden, Utah, on October 31, 1950, the son of Ralph Gustaveson and Vera Mae Lippold Dorrity. He graduated from Duchesne High School, received a Bachelors in Business Administration from California Coast University and Masters degree in Biblical Studies.

He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and later retired as a Captain in the Army. He married Elizabeth Ann Goff, they had a daughter together, and later divorced. He married Shauna Fay Cox in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 12, 1975.

They celebrated 43 years together last summer. Dennis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in numerous callings throughout his life including serving a mission in the California Mission.

He enjoyed collecting Bibles, computers, and was an author of poetry and a re book for missionaries. Dennis is survived by his wife, Shauna Fay Dorrity of Ogden; sons, Dennis Obadiah (Torie) Dorrity of Layton and Devon Zechariah (Christy) Dorrity of Mountain Green; daughters, DeAnné Leah (Martin) Christoffersen of Bella Vista, AR and Dara Fay (Dean) Rodemack of Twin Falls, ID; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jeff Dorrity of Wofford Heights, CA and John Stumpp of Montpelier, ID; sisters, “Sam” Daphne Wells of St. George, Tammy Wilcken of Duchesne, Brenda Stunkel of Buffalo, NY, and June Bradley of Tualatin, OR. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Tren Hunter Dorrity, parents, and brother, Gwen Stumpp.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Washington Terrace 13th Ward, 4855 South 300 West. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Syracuse Cemetery.
