LaRene Mecham Jaques August 6, 1935-March 7, 2019 LaRene Mecham Jaques, age 83, passed away surrounded by family on March 7, 2019. She was born on August 6, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to Milford and Elvera Butters Mecham. She grew up in Morgan, Utah and enjoyed playing at her grandma’s house with cousins.

She had many fond memories of riding in the old milk truck with her dad. She met and married Jerry Jaques on June 2, 1952 in Morgan, Utah. Together they had 4 children, Jack (Raydeen) Jaques, Patricia (Rick) Sorensen, Bob (Tay) Jaques and Amy (Bryan) Smith.

She had 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way. LaRene worked hard at helping her husband run the family business and the farm as they raised their four children. She participated for many years as a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and later found her true calling as a volunteer at Davis Hospital for over 25 years.

She is survived by many wonderful friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Max, husband and his parents who she was also very close with. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No.

Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
