Janet M. “Jan” (Trapp) Straziuso, 80, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Friday afternoon, June 1, 2018, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky. Born on September 29, 1937, in Lafayette, IN the daughter of Andrew Adam and Edith Vesta (Leslie) Trapp. She was a 1956 graduate of Bellevue High School.

Jan had worked as a L.P.N. at Providence Hospital, in Sandusky, for many years, before retiring in 1966. She enjoyed spending time with her family, the grandchildren and the great-grandchildren. Jan was a member of Sts.

Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the I.A.B. Club and had been a Chaplain for the Huron Eagles Club for over 10 years. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Anthony J. “Tony” Straziuso, Sr., whom she married on May 4, 1957; a son, Anthony J. “Tony” (Deb) Straziuso, Jr. of Huron; two daughters, Lisa (Mike Mets) Straziuso of Circleville and Michelle (Jeff) Acierto of Huron; three grandchildren, Christopher (Andrea Absher) Acierto, Matthew (Abbey) Acierto and Heather (Michael Steel) Acierto; seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Bryleigh, Cole, Wyatt, Braylee, Carter and Scarlett: and nieces and nephews. Jan was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Shirley Hill; and a brother, Charles F. Trapp.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, from 5-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Wednesday morning, June 6, 2018, at 9:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.

It was her wishes to be cremated following the services. Burial will be held at a later date in the Bellevue Catholic Cemetery, in Bellevue, OH. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Ohio Buckeye Chapter, 6155 Rockside Road, Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131 or to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O. Box 163549, Columbus, OH 43216-3549.
