Obituary for Janina “Janet” Kowalewski Janina (Janet) Kowalewski Saginaw, Michigan Beloved mother and grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at her home. Age 93 years. Janet Ludwiczak was born on June 16, 1924 in Poland.

She married Franciszek (Frank) Kowalewski and they came to the United States in 1951. He predeceased her September 22, 1994. Janet was a member of St. John Paul II Parish.

She retired from Bill Knapps in 1985 after 30 years of service. Janet loved to cook, enjoyed her yard and playing Bingo. Surviving are four sons, one daughter and their spouses, Matthew Kowalewski, Freeland; Ed and Mary Kowalewski, Saginaw; Edith Kowalewski, Bay City; John and Debbie Kowalewski, Burt; Steve and Alicia Kowalewski, Carrollton; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, many special friends especially, Joni and Sharon and special neighbors, George and Susie Gulliver and Chuck and Dolores Edwards.

Janet was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Robin Kowalewski and a grandson, Steven Kyle Kowalewski. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at St. John Paul II Parish-St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Road in Carrollton. Rev.

Fr. Joseph A. Schabel will officiate with interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.

, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Josaphat Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Steven Kyle Kowalewski Foundation or St. John Paul II Parish.
