Janyce Rader Osborne December 26, 1940 – January 20, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Janyce Rader Osborne, 78, of Pampa, passed away January 20, 2019, in Pampa. There are no services scheduled at this time. However, the family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 PM Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors to share memories and celebrate the life of Janyce.

Janyce was born December 26, 1940, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Gladys and Douglas Rader. Janyce grew up and graduated from high school in Nashville. After high school, she enrolled in nursing school and throughout the years continued her education in nursing, earning several degrees.

In the early 70’s, Janyce moved to Texas where she would later meet David Osborne while he was on temporary assignment with Celanese in Houston. They wed on May 30, 1975, in Houston. Janyce and David moved to Pampa in 1982, residing here ever since.

Janyce was a very active member of First Baptist Church where she directed Mission Friends and taught Sunday school. She was a longtime volunteer for Pampa Meals on Wheels. Survivors include her husband, David Osborne of the home; two daughters, Joyce Miles and husband Stephen of Houston, and Edith Osborne and husband Andrew Lester of San Angelo; and by extended family.

Janyce was preceded in death by her parents; a twin sister, Joyce Rader; and a brother, Kenneth Rader. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to First Baptist Church, PO Box 621, Pampa, Texas 79066-0621; or Pampa Senior Citizens, PO Box 475, Pampa, Texas 79066-0475.
