Sue’s Obituary Sue Owens, 85, of Pampa, passed away January 17, 2019 in Borger. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 21, 2019, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Carter Pirtle, pastor of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating.

Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Owens was born June 21, 1933 in Paducah to Thomas and Mary Cowart. She was a 1951 graduate of White Deer High School.

She married Tommy Joe Owens on March 7, 1952 in Skellytown. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1991. Sue worked several years for Southwestern Bell Telephone before becoming a homemaker for her four children.

She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to crochet and sell Avon. She was an avid baseball fan, especially for the Texas Rangers.

Survivors include her two sons, Max Owens and wife Tammy of Borger, and Scot Owens and wife Phyllis of Skellytown; a daughter, Terry Roland and husband Neal of Bethany, Oklahoma; a stepbrother, James Veale and wife Sue of the DFW metroplex; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Max Cowart; and a son, Larry Owens in 2016. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
