Jason Robert Whittle, age 26, returned to the divine presence of his loving Heavenly Father on Monday, October 22, 2018. Jason was born in American Fork, UT on July 31, 1992 to his parents, Anne Marie Esposito and Robert Mark Whittle. As a young child Jason was a lover of all things.

He loved his mom, his dad, his big brother, and eventually, with time, his little sister. From the moment he decided at age 5 and a half that he was going to accept his new calling as a big brother to a little sister he took the charge to be a fierce and loyal protector, not only to her, but to all in need which characteristically reigned true in Jason’s soul for the remainder of his life on earth. The man was a gentle giant.

He grew to be not only large in stature, but also tremendous in heart and soul. When Jason would have no money to his name, but gathered even a few dollars he would give to those he felt needed it more than he. Throughout his mortal steps, Jason took the responsibility upon himself to be an underground hero.

Jason grew to have a passion and endearing love for his country because of the citizens, religious freedom, and bravery he believed in. Jason immediately after graduating high school joined the service. In the end Jason may not have been able to fight for his country, but he was a soldier in fighting mental illness.

He was bullied, persecuted, tried, forsaken, and left alone by so many, yet the innocent heart of our lovely boy took no thought to hold any grudges. When one would come to him in an apology, his response was almost always a hug and a frank, “You were already forgiven”. Because of his great empathy and forgiveness he was adored, enjoyed, and so very loved by so, so many.

Jason was his mother and sister’s protector, his father’s legacy, his brother’s best bud, and to many others, their hero. He was the means of bringing many into the light of the Lord. The loss of such a man as Jason is a seemingly unbearable sacrifice for his family, yet we know his work now is in the Lord’s kingdom in the spirit world.

He was a tool for God to reach those who seemed unreachable in this life. He taught the gospel to all those he met. He was a “preacher” according to many in his life here, and will carry his honorable title into the next phase of eternity.

We bid thee farewell for now, dear Jason, as you begin your mission beyond the veil. -Written with love by Natalie Jason is survived by his Mother, Anne Esposito, his Father and step mom, Rob and Joy Whittle, his big brother, Steven Thomas Delgado, and little sister, Natalie Lynn Whittle. Jason’s funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27th at 11:00 am at the LDS Stone Ridge Chapel on 12070 S Laurel Chase Rd in Riverton, UT.

Following will be a Graveside service at the Orem City Cemetery located at 1520 N 800 E in Orem, UT There will be a picnic in the adjacent park for any that would like to join us. Bring your lawn chairs and memories of Jason to share.
