Obituary for Jean Gibson Jean Evanson Gibson, 89, of Johnson City, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Lakebridge Health Care. She was a native of Waynesville, NC, and daughter of the late Elbert and Addie Arringtron Evanson. Jean was a member of Mt.

View Baptist Church in Johnson City. She enjoyed cooking, but mostly loved spending time with her family. Those left to cherish Jean’s memory include her loving husband, VL “Hoot” Gibson, her children: Bobby Gibson, Randy Gibson, and Betty Story; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be sent to Mt. View Baptist Church 4005 Bristol Hwy, Johnson City, TN 37601. The family will gather to share memories on Wednesday, July, 25, 2018 from 5:00 pm until a Celebration of Jean’s Life at 7:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Pastor James Cambron officiating.

A Graveside and Committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday at Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am on Thursday.
