Obituary for Jed Coggins Jed A Coggins Lubec Jed A. Coggins , 89 , died March 29, 2018 surrounded by his family, in the same home in which he was born , on December 18, 1928. He was the son of the late Wilbur S and Flora (Libby) Coggins. He attended Lubec schools graduating in 1947.

He then attended and graduated from the University of Maine in Orono in 1951 with a degree in agronomy. He worked for the Railroad Perishable Inspection Agency for 30 years as regional manager. After retiring he returned to Lubec to begin his new life.

He served on the board of selectmen for many years serving 2 terms as chairman. He was a Mason, and member of the Lubec Lions Club. His passion was being out and about on his tractor.

He could be seen mowing many fields and roads in Washington County. He was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan, much to the chagrin of the rest of his family, except his daughter-in-law. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mary (Cline) ; two sisters- Sarah McPhail and Winnifred Bryant ; four children – Brenda Santos (Manny) of Homosassa, FL , Robert Coggins (Barbara) of Delmar, NY, James of Lubec , and Jeffrey (Robin) of Pawtucket, RI He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren – Manny , Kevin , Cristin , Pamela.

Jessica, and Christopher ; also seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces , and nephews. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 am until time of services at 11am on Saturday May 19, 2018 at the Lubec Christian Temple Church. A reception will follow at the Lubec American Legion.
