Obituary for Bessie Schoppee Bessie D. Schoppee Jonesboro Bessie D. Schoppee, 90, passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2018. She was born January 17, 1928 the daughter of the late Everett and Marian (Manchester) Dodge . She was a graduate of Jonesport High School, class of 1946, and then attended Maine School of Commerce and Portland School of Business.

She was employed for many years working at the Jonesboro Post Office , was a secretary at Rier Buick, and the medical office of Dr. James Whalen. She even drove the school bus for Jonesboro. To say Bessie was involved in her community was an understatement.

She was Past Worthy Matron of Machias Chapter and Rumery Chapter Order of Eastern Star, for far too many years to name. Also serving as District Deputy and Grand Representative ;Mother Advisor of Machias Assembly Order of Rainbow Girls, Past President of Jonesboro P.T.A , member of Jonesboro Grange , Founding member of Jonesboro Planning Board , Trustee of Jonesboro Fire Department , Past President of Down East Community Hospital Auxiliary , Down East Community Hospital Board of Corporators, Co-President of Jonesboro/ Roque Bluffs Fire Department Auxiliary , Along with helping at numerous suppers , a 4 H Advisor, and cheering coach . “Volunteerism” was her middle name .

She is survived by her children – Keitha Havey and husband Mark ,Michael Schoppee and wife Wendy ,Susan Carter and husband Robert , Kristi Anderson and husband Jeffery ; grandchildren -Rebecca Haverkos and husband Daniel , Christopher Schoppee ,Nicole Albee and husband Jonathan , Heather Anderson , Ian Anderson and Kasey Anderson ; great-grandchildren Holly and Kerrigan Havey and their mother Crystal Sargent, Matthew , Josiah, and Tobias Haverkos ; a sister Wanda Noyes, and husband Wellington; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Keith, a son Dana Schoppee, and a grandson Daniel Havey. Her family would like to especially thank her Home health caregiver Amanda Hanscom.
