Obituary for Ruth E Harmon (Look) Ruth E. Harmon Whiting Ruth Elizabeth Harmon, 70, our sister, aunt , grandmother great grandmother, friend and most importantly mother. Ruth Elizabeth (Look) Harmon climbed the golden stairway to meet her Lord and Savior, on September 8, 2018. She was not a religious person, but she did believe.
So with that belief, we believe she is there with her friends, and family that crossed over before her, and became a Heavenly angel. She was born September 5, 1948 in Machias to Maxwell R and Myra (Davis) Look. She attended school through the 8th grade , then moving away to Rhode Island, and Massachusetts to work for a short time before returning home and marrying the love of her life, and starting a family of their own.
She lived a simple but happy life. She was employed at the A.M. Look Canning company, as her main job, and also went tipping in the fall, and raked blueberries in the summer, and was known to did a few clams along the way. The whole time she worked, she hummed.
If you ever lost track of her, just listen for the humming. She enjoyed gardening in her younger years, but hated it in her later years. She had a true passion for old time country music.
The love for her family was obvious. In addition to her parents , she was predeceased by a brother David Look ; a sister Barbara Look Bouchard Matthews ; a brother-in-law Ray Harmon; an infant twin son Robert Allen ; the other twin son as an adult David Carroll Harmon Jr “Hoogie” and her husband of 47 years David Carroll Sr. she is survived by her youngest son Gregory James Harmon , his partner Joanie Anthony ,and their three children – Alisha, Devin, and Abby Harmon ; her brother Douglas Lookand his wife Vickie Jordan Look, and their three children – Barry , Stephen , and Heidi ; nephews – David Look , Tommy , Joey, and Bobby Bouchard ; three special nieces – Jeanette an husband Jeff Look , Abby Harmon, and Stacey Harmon ; special cousins – Robert Davis and his wife Jeannie , Randy Dennison and wife Diane ; special friends Wanda Wood and her partner Brent Davis , Jim Stasunas , Teresa Webber , and her beloved dog Jake ; 4 great grandsons Isaiah Robbins , Jase and Luke Boyington, and Ezra Harmon ; two brothers-in-law Elwood Harmon and wife Jeanne of Texas, and Elmar Harmon, and wife Brenda, Charlie Harmon and wife Caroline, and a sister-in-law Susie Scally. A special thank you goes out to a few different groups of people; first of all to Dr. Cynthia Sammis and her staff, the staff at the A2Z Variety Store, and to the staff of Down East Community Hospital.
You all took wonderful care of her, and was kind and considerate when times were a little difficult. Thanks again ! Graveside services will be held 1 pm Saturday October 13, 2018 at the New Cutler Cemetery.
