Obituary for Orrin Urquhart Sr. Orrin M. Urquhart Sr. Marshfield Orrin Maxwell Urquhart Sr. ,78, passed away October 4, 2018 at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 22, 1940 in Jonesport the son of the late Nellie (Alley) and Millard Urquhart Sr He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy ,serving on the U.S.S. Tidewater.
He then worked and retired from New England Telephone Company after 30 years, having served as Chief Stewart of Union I.B.E.W. He was a member of Post #9 American Legion in Machias.
He loved talking about Navy stories and telephone work with friends. He loved the time he spent with family, especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed taking them hunting, camping, and canoeing.
He also loved going lobster fishing with his brothers in Jonesport. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Colleen (Farnsworth) Urquhart ; two daughters- Nadine Baker and husband Eddie of Jonesboro, and Shelly Bellve and husband Karl of Hubbardston, MA ; a son Orrin Jr and partner Terry Wood of Marshfield ; 9 grandchildren , 5 great-grandchildren ; two sisters- Madie Seavey of Jonesport, and Gracie Urquhart of Cherryfield ; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by 5 brothers – Allen , Millard Jr , Adelmar “Tuddy”, Wendell “Wimp”, and Carl Urquhart, and one sister Mary Caler.
The family would like to thank the wonderful friends they made in Ellsworth at Davita Dialysis, and to the Doctors and I.C.U. Nurses at E.M.M.C. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am until time of funeral services at 11 am on Monday October 8, 2018 at the Jonesboro Union Church with Pastor David Gardner officiating. A reception will follow at the Jonesboro Community Building.
