Obituary for Jeffery Spicer Jeffery A. Spicer, 53, of Murphysboro, was found Sunday, September 16, 2018, at Wolf Lake, Illinois. Jeffery was born on September 13, 1965, in Marion, Illinois, to George Robert Spicer, Sr. and Gloria (Hastings) Spicer. Mr. Spicer had worked as a painter and wall paper hanger and more recently was the maintenance and grounds keeper of Indian Creek Cabins in Carbondale.
He was formerly a member of the Painters and Glaziers District Council 58 in Collinsville. Jeff loved to fish, liked to go root digging, loved to ride his four-wheeler and doing anything outdoors. He married Elizabeth Castlebery on April 30, 1988, in Grand Tower, Illinois, and she survives.
Other survivors include three children Amanda Schemonia of Murphysboro, Jeffery Spicer, Jr. and Kaylan Spicer, both at home; two grandchildren Kennedy Schemonia and Zeke Schemonia; his mother of Grand Tower; one brother George Robert (Kathy) Spicer, Jr. of Creal Springs, IL; two sisters Mary Ann (David) Smith and Kathy (Bill) Chapman, all of Wolf Lake; two brother in laws, one sister in law and their spouses, Joe (Heidi) Castlebery of Carbondale, Gwena (Malloy Bramlett, Sr.) Bramlett and Bill (Tanya) Castlebery, all of Murphysboro; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father on December 21, 2005 Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the Lighthouse Christian Assembly in Grand Tower with Rev. Peggy Camp officiating and burial at Walker Hill Cemetery.
