Jennifer Lafond May 05, 1977 – January 04, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card US Army Captain Jennifer Lafond, 41, Died unexpectedly on Friday, January 4th at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. She is the daughter of Charles and Patricia Lafond and graduated from Merrimack High School in 1995. Jennifer was an Army ROTC Graduate from Salve Regina/URI.

As a new 2nd LT Operating Room Nurse, she arrived at her first Duty Station Walter Reed Medical Center just weeks before 9/11. She was dispatched to the Pentagon on that day and spent the next 5 days working in a MASH unit. She would later become the Med/Surg Charge nurse, literally caring for all the wounded service members returning from Iraq/Afghanistan.

Jennifer’s career spanned 20 years as an OR/Trauma Nurse/Manager and at times a Hospice Nurse. In her free time Jennifer volunteered as an art teacher, was a passionate painter and writer, coached cheerleading for the Merrimack Hawks, but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her daughter Ava. Jennifer will be missed and never forgotten by her daughter Ava and parents Charles and Patricia Lafond of Merrimack.

She is also survived by a sister Jamie, and brothers Christopher and Travis. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, January 13th from 12 – 2 PM at the Rivet Funeral Home 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack. Burial will take place on Monday, January 14th at 1:00 PM at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen NH.
