Ackerson, 85, of Merrimack passed away on Monday, January 7th, 2019 at Bedford Hills in Bedford after a period of declining health. He was born on June 20th, 1933 in Nyack, NY to the late Thomas and Edith (Brown) Ackerson. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served from 1952 – 1954.

Before retiring, Robert worked as an Office Manager for Mass Mutual Life Insurance for many years. He was pre-deceased by his wife Rose Lee Ackerson in 2010. Surviving members of his family include four children, Thomas Ackerson of Manchester, Todd Ackerson of Merrimack, Wendy Hebert of Candia, and Cheryl Hayes of Salem; five grandchildren, Jayson, Noah and Hannah Hebert, Matthew Boudreau and Mikayla Ackerson; a brother, Allen Ackerson of NJ; a sister, June Billerth of NY and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack on Thursday, January 10th from 5 – 8 PM. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held at Last Rest Cemetery at a later date.
