Obituary for Jesse A Wallace Jesse Alton Wallace, 85, of 317 Mathews Heights Road, Greenwood, beloved husband of Corene Dudley Wallace, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his home. Born in Bowman, GA, he was a son of the late Walter and Ara Bryant Wallace. Jesse retired as Supertintendent from Greenwood Mills where he worked for 42 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

He was a member of Augusta Highway Baptist Church where he was in the Men’s Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by a infant daughter; a sister, Elera Simmons and a great grandson, Jerry Wallace. Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years are his children, Virgil Wallace (Marie), Rudy Wallace, both of Greenwood and Joe Wallace (Evelyn) of Royston, GA; three sisters, Doris Rousey of Bowman, GA, Shirley House (Ralph) of Danielsville, GA and Patricia Bryan of Lavonia, GA; a brother, Leon Wallace (Charlotte) of Bowman, GA; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; nine step-great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Ushery officiating. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Bernice Harter, Robert Wallace, Joe Wallace, Jr., Jesse D. Wallace, J.W. Wallace, Jason Wallace and John Wallace. Honorary escort will be his great grandchildren: Justin Wallace, Trent Douglas, Kandice Wallace, Jesse D. Wallace, Jr., Rustin Wallace, Levi Wallace, Austin Wallace and Christy Wallace; along with Ben & Carol Rickard, Charlie & Sharon Smith, Martha Hughes, Russell Brewer, Carolyn Cooper, Eric & Tracy Long, Phil Wood, Chris Taylor, Walt Morris, Rick Martin, Danny Kasey, Jack Duckett, Eddie Royston, Bob Murray and Melvin Scott. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 pm.
