Jesse “Tip” Stanley Hackett February 20, 1947 – April 22, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Jesse “Tip” Stanley Hackett, 71, of 128 Lisa Drive, widower of the late Julia S. Hackett answered God’s call on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at his home. He was born in Bradley, South Carolina to the late Julian P. and Nezzie T. Griffin Hackett. He attended Brewer High School with the Class of 1966.

Tip was recently employed with the School of Hope Christian Academy and retired from the textile industry. He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee, member of the Male Chorus, Brotherhood and Kitchen Ministries. He was a member of the former Ladies and Gents Social Club.

Tip leaves to cherish his memories, eight children, Webster Ross, Lawanda “Trelle” Hackett, Stanley Hackett, Kimberly Drennon, Marlana (Chris) Childs, Albert Brown, and Willie “Ant” Brown all of Greenwood, South Carolina and Angela Drennon of Aiken, South Carolina; a special nephew/son, Cedric Singletary, Sr., of the home; a special cousin, Robert Watson, Sr.,(Anna) of Greenwood, South Carolina; eight sisters, Mary (Calvin, Sr.) White, Jeanette White, Lucille (James) Blair, Mildred (Raymond, Sr.) Johnson, Marie Pope all of Greenwood, South Carolina; Joncie (Grady) Singletary of Detroit, Michigan; Frances Taylor of Baltimore, Maryland; and Helen (Rev. Paul Sr.) Long of Rock Hill, South Carolina; one brother, Frank (Jackie) Hackett of Raleigh, North Carolina; 6 sisters-in-law, 9 brothers-in-law, 29 grandchildren, 20+ great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Vonzie Singletary and Carrie N. Crawford, two brothers, John Edward Hackett and James M. Hackett.

Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Mount. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Adams officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon. The family is at the home of a sister, Jeanette White.
