Burlington – Jessie Maye Bradshaw Hester, 80, died on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on November 12, 1938 in Harnett County to the late Jesse and Beatrice Avery Bradshaw and was the wife to the late Charles Bennie Hester who died in 2003. Jessie retired from Western Electric after 30 years of service.

She enjoyed crafts, artwork and spending time with her family. Jessie is survived by her daughters, Joni Alexander… Read More » and husband, Dan, Jennifer Kerr and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Bryan Davis, Brandon Kerr, Zachary Kerr and Katelynne Kerr; great grandson, Alexander Davis; sister, Marilyn Bradshaw; brothers, Jack Bradshaw and wife, Mary, Dylan Bradshaw and wife, Debbie; brothers-in-law, Herman Riley and Willie Core; special friends, Bennie Payne and Sandy Simmons; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Janet Davis; sisters, Sue Core and Faye Riley; and brothers, Rick Bradshaw and Jeff Bradshaw.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Chuck Perkins with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm Wednesday prior to the service and other times at the daughter, Joni’s home in Gibsonville.
