Obituary for Jesus Levrie Jr. Jesus “Chito” Levrie, Jr., age 73, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Texsan Methodist Hospital, located in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on July 26, 1944 in Del Rio. Jesse, as he was also known, was the proud owner of “Levrie’s Used Cars” of Del Rio for over 48 years.
He specialized in rebuilding classic cars and trucks from the ground up. He was also an avid street car racer for most of his life. Jesse also enjoyed other hobbies like hunting and fishing.
He had a natural curiosity about how things worked. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jesse was a proud Del Rio native who enjoyed the outdoors, but mostly Lake Amistad.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Maria Luisa and Jesus Levrie Sr.; and brothers: Roy Levrie and Luis Levrie. Family members left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife Lilia Levrie of Del Rio; daughters: Guadalupe Levrie, Anna Boutwell, Sandra Terlaje, Alma Levrie Garcia, and Jessica Ramos; sons: Martin Levrie and Victor Levrie; Jesus is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, numerous nephews, nieces and other family members. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Faith.
A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on both nights. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 12 noon with Father Sady Nelson Santana O.M.I. officiating. Burial will follow at the San Felipe Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Martin Levrie Jr., Hector Levrie, Michael Levrie, Hector Gaona Jr., Jose (Joe) Ramos, Tom Dorie, Hugo Treviño III, and Johnny Garcia, Larry Riojas, and Richard Vann.
