Jim’s Obituary James W. “Jim” Huffman, age 91 of Barryton, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Brook in Big Rapids. He was born on June 13, 1927 in Sears, the son of Earl and Eva (McCord) Huffman. On April 21, 1945 he married Fern Williams and they made their home and raised their family in Barryton, where they faithfully attended the Church of God.

Jim honorably served in the United States Army. He earned a master’s degree in education from Central Michigan University and retired from the Chippewa Hills School District in 1989. Jim looked forward to visits from friends and family.

He was a hard worker, accomplished welder and loved the Lord. Jim was very particular, straight forward and loved. Jim is survived by sons, Steve (Virginia) Huffman, Ben Huffman, Naaman (Penny) Huffman all of Barryton and Mark (Nancy) Huffman of Sears; one brother, Ted (Shirley) Huffman of Camden; one sister, Norma Huffman of Reed City; and numerous endeared grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 71 years, Fern; a son, Danny Huffman, an infant brother, Glenn; two sisters, Norma and Barbee; a grandson, Jeffrey Huffman and a great-grandson, Bradley Huffman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Barryton Church of God with Pastor Gary Bryan officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4th at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton and one hour prior to services at the Church of God (20244 30th Ave.

, Barryton). In remembrance of Jim’s dedication to the church, memorial donations can be made to the Barryton Church of God.
