Ohatchee – Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy L. Williamson, 69, will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with military honors. Dr. Matthew Morrison will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the service on Friday.

Jimmy died on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife and best friend, of 48 years, Jolene Williamson of Ohatchee; three children, Scott (Sunshine) Williamson of Hokes Bluff, Angie (Corey) Morrow of Dyersburg, TN and Kelley Lewisson of Alabama City; six grandchildren, Mabrey and Ensley Williamson, Austin and Kendyl Morrow, Alex Lewisson and Bronc Green; two brothers, Billy Joe (Gail) Williamson of Glencoe and Bobby (Mary Ann) Williamson of Ivalee; and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Jessie Mae George Williamson; one brother, Charles Williamson; and one grandson, Evan Lewisson.

Jimmy had the most out-going personality. He made friends everywhere he went because he was a true “people-person” and never met a stranger, but most of all he loved the Lord. Jimmy was of the Baptist faith and served his country during the Vietnam War Era in the United States Army.

He retired from Goodyear, in Gadsden, after several years of dedicated employment. Before Jim’s health started to decline he dearly loved to hunt, fish and golf and usually had a funny story about each. His precious family and devoted friends were dear to his heart and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the many people that sent up prayers and also offered assistance during Jimmy’s his short illness. Thanks is also given for the comfort and care that was so graciously administered from the Gadsden Regional SICU staff. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations please be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.
