OBITUARY NAN THACKER April 15, 1935 – July 22, 2018 Funeral services for Nan LaRue Newman Thacker, 83, of Anniston will be Monday July 23, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at Fairview Heights Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Richardson and Rev. Stanley Owen officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 at the church. Burial will be Tuesday at 10 AM at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Thacker passed away July 22, 2018 at her residence.

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Knee (John), sons Ray Thacker (Cathy), Philip Thacker (Rhonda), Chris Thacker (Christie), sister Letitia Newman, brothers Derrell Newman and Van Newman, grandchildren Stephen Thacker (Misty), Whitney Robinson (Jason), Lindsey Draper (Chris), Melissa Knee, Ragan Smith (Jordan), Michelle Knee, Jameson Thacker, Wesley Knee, Samuel Thacker, great grandchildren Hunter Robinson, Hayden Robinson, Connor Draper, Bradyn Thacker, Brylee Draper, Callie Thacker, Maevie Robinson and many precious nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thacker is preceded in death by her husband James L. Thacker, parents Floyd and Velma Newman, brother Orman Newman, sisters Eileen Acker and Louise Prichard. Pallbearers will be Sam Prichard, Fred Acker, Dennis Newman, Glen Newman, Reece Newman, John Knee, Jason Robinson, Jordan Smith.

Mrs. Thacker was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Fairview Heights Northside Baptist Church. She graduated from Alexandria High School. She loved spending time with family and loved watching baseball and football.

She was a loving mother to all she came in contact with. She loved the Lord and lived her life to please Him. Special thanks to New Beacon Hospice for their great care.
