Obituary for Joan Gruber (McDade) Joan H. (McDade) Gruber,78, of North Huntingdon died Friday June 1, 2018 at her home. She was born July 3, 1939, in Pittsburgh a daughter of the late Walter J. and Dorothy (Moore) McDade. Prior to her retirement she was employed as an Accountant Secretary for Precision Defense Service of Irwin (P.D.S.) Joan was a member of the Irwin Garden Club, the Woman of the Moose, of Irwin.

She loved to read and was also a member of the Norwin Public Library and liked doing ceramics. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother Walter McDade, Surviving are two children Jeffrey D. Gruber and his wife, Jill, of Pine Twp. , Peggy Wargo and her husband, Mike, of Greensburg; five grandchildren Michael Fix and his wife, Lauren, of Pittsburgh, Daniel Higgins, of Daytona Beach.

FL, Abbie Janzef and her husband, Nate, of Pittsburgh, Mackinley and Kelsey Gruber both, of Pine Twp. ; a brother Chip McDade and his wife Nancy, of Hamlin NY; and dear friend and companion of 17 years Ronald Bernick, of North Huntingdon; three nieces and one nephew. Friends will be received 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday May 9th at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin.

A funeral service will be held Sunday May 10th at a time to be announced. The family request in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Irwin Garden Club or the Norwin Public Library 100 Caruthers Lane North Huntingdon Pa 15642.
