JoAnne Huling, 73, of Oval went to be with her Lord and Savior after a lengthy battle with liver and kidney disease on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at Manor Care in Jersey Shore, where she was surrounded by her loving family. JoAnne was born in Canandaigua, NY, Dec.

27, 1944, a daughter of Tom F. and Ruby M. (Day) Shipman. She was a graduate of Williamsport High School and was married on May 1, 1965 at the Old Walnut Street Baptist Church in Jersey Shore to David Lee Huling who survives. Early in her life, she was employed by Bro-dart Co. and Litton Industries of Williamsport and was an avid bowler.

JoAnne was a homemaker who became a very accomplished seamstress and long arm quilter. She was a 4-H leader who taught youngsters the craft. JoAnne was a member of various quilting guilds including the Tiadaghton Guild and The Clinton County Piecemakers.

JoAnne was a member of the Oval United Methodist Church and the church choir. She enjoyed her grandchildren’s sporting events and was extremely loving and supporting of her family. Besides her husband, of 53 years, David; Joanne is survived by two daughters, Madeline J. Smith (Timothy) of Loganton and Marcia A. Harter (Craig) of Jersey Shore; one son, Matthew D. Huling (Teresa) of Penfield; along with grandchildren, Joshua Huling, Micheal Swartz, Ben Card, Amelia and Mitchell Smith, Dan and Bill Berkey; three sisters, Janet Baltzley of Wellsboro, Judy Carpenter, of Linden and Joyce Schramm of Cogan Station; one brother, James Shipman of Cogan Station.

JoAnne will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A Tribute of Life service for JoAnne will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore, with Rev. George Grossman officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10 am – 11:30 am at the funeral home. Her family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions be made to either the Oval United Methodist Church, 6796 S. Rt. 44, Jersey Shore, PA 17740 or The Walnut Street Christian School, 201 W. Highland Street, PO Box 616, Avis, PA 17721.
