Joanne “Joanie” Murgala, 68, of East Vandergrift, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at AHN- Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Born June 22, 1949 in New Kensington, she was a daughter of the late John G. Murgala & Mary (Trozzi) Murgala. Joanne lived in East Vandergrift all of her life, and was a 1967 graduate of Kiski Area High School.

Her work career saw her employed at West Haven Manor from 1977-80, K-Mart from 1980-1993, Community Market from 2000-2004, and… Read More » with Uncle Charley’s Sausage Company from 2004-2006. Joanne was a member of Our Lady Queen Of Peace Catholic Church in East Vandergrift. She enjoyed crocheting, working on ceramics, cooking, and loved going to bingo.

Joanne is survived by her sister, Lorraine (Murgala) Gurda of Boynton Beach, FL; and her nephew, Robert W. (Kimberly) Pearsall of Colorado Springs, CO. At Joanne’s request, there will be no public viewing. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen Of Peace Catholic Church, East Vandergrift, with Father Michael Sciberras as celebrant.

Interment in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift.
