Obituary for JoAnne L. Braun Beloved mother and grandmother passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at New Hope Valley Assisted Living. Age 85 years. The daughter of the late Earl and Lilus (Johnson) Dennis, JoAnne was born October 6, 1933 in Vassar, Michigan.

She married James Braun, her loving husband of 65 years, April 10, 1953. He survives her. She was employed in food service for many years until her retirement.

JoAnne was a member of Ames United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Evart (Hicks Lake), ceramics, crafts, shopping, reading and loved spending time with her family. Surviving besides her husband James are one daughter, one son and their spouses, Pamela and James Goddeyne, Saginaw; Brian and Sandra Braun, Kawkawlin; two grandchildren, Kelly (Brandon) Heinz, Jason (Nicole) Braun; four step-grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah) Young, Gretchen (Joel) Paige, Krystal (Senyo) Affram and Angelica Young; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Grant Dennis; several nieces and nephews.

JoAnne was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Florence Plank, Shirley Witzke, John and Gene Dennis. JoAnne’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to New Hope Assisted Living and Southern Care Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.

, (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Doug Mater will officiate.

Interment will take place 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday, November 19, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Ames United Methodist Church or Southern Care Hospice.
