Obituary for Karen J. Bourcier Midland, Michigan Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center. Age 71 years. The daughter of the late Thomas and Lucille (Zielinski) Fitzgerald, Karen was born on November 13, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan.

She married James Bourcier on November 5, 1966. He survives her. Karen graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University.

Early in her career, she was a teacher in the Saginaw Area Schools. After raising her family, Karen went on and eventually retired from the United States Postal Service. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Karen belonged to the Stitch and Prayer Club. She enjoyed baking, quilting, crocheting, sewing and will always be remembered for making “grammy-jammies”. Surviving besides her husband James are four children, Elizabeth (Mike) Nicholson, Clarkston; Patrick Bourcier, Pontiac; Daniel (Diana) Bourcier, Orange, California; Jill (Shane) Morris, Cape Girardeau, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Kimberly Bourcier, Michael, Megan, Molly, Matthew, Morgan Nicholson, Paulina and Lauren Bourcier, Madeline, Haley, Blake, Mason and Aidan Morris; one brother and one sister, Timothy (Molly) Fitzgerald and Sally (Chas) Van Winkle; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Susan Bourcier; her canine companions, Roller and Rocket.

Karen was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, George Bourcier. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3109 Swede Ave, Midland. Rev.

Fr. Kevin Maksym will officiate with interment to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery in Saginaw. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.

, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
