Joanne Louise Wesselmann December 26, 1929 – October 25, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Joanne Louise Wesselmann, 88, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Premier Estates of Toledo under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Tama.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with a Vigil Service at 7 PM. Joanne was born on December 26, 1929, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth (Streck) Powell. She graduated from Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, KS.

On June 19, 1954, she was united in marriage to Robert Francis Wesselmann Sr. in Kansas City, KS. They moved to Tama in 1979. Joanne was employed as a transcriptionist for the Family Health Center in Toledo.

In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting. Joanne was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tama and a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Tama. Survivors include her children, Robert Wesselmann Jr. of Toledo, Stephen (Karla) Wesselmann of Winterset, John (JoEllen) Wesselmann of Ankeny, Melissa (Don) McCreary of Hiawatha, David (Tina) Wesselmann of Iowa Falls, and Eric (Diane) Wesselmann of Hubbard; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia (John) Coughlin of Overland Park, KS, and Jeanne Radmacher of Topeka, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert on May 24, 2011. Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown or Premier Estates of Toledo.
