John A. Emerich, age 73, passed away on May 28, 2018, at Atrium Nursing home from his battle with prostate cancer. John was in the Navy and served in Vietnam. He loved working on the family farm plus various farms throughout the Ashland area.

John started Emerich Welding and Repair in Ripon WI, and for many years helped local farmers and businesses. John enjoyed his friends throughout the years and also his yearly Pow Wow with his family. John is survived by his children: Kevin Emerich, Fond du Lac; Spencer (Barb) Emerich, Black River Falls, Katherine (Ken) Van Gompel, Kimberly; Susan (Sean) Carlton, Ripon; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers: Gary (Judy) Emerich, Mount Calvary, and Dale (Karie) Chapman, Berlin.

John was preceded in death by his parents: Alvin Emerich, Kathleen (Emerich) Chapman and step father, Wayne Chapman. Family and friends may gather at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018. Full military honors will be performed by the U.S. Navy and members of the American Legion Post #258, Little Chute at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
