John George Hietpas John G. Hietpas, age 83, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 16, 2018, after a brief illness. He was born on April 17, 1935, son of the late John and Elizabeth (Vanden Heuvel) Hietpas. On February 14, 1956, John married Shirley Bergman, and together they celebrated 60 years of marriage before her passing on November 7, 2016.

John worked for many years at Don Hietpas and Sons Utility Contractors, and continued to work there through his retirement. He loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica with his siblings. His favorite person to play for was his wife, Shirley.

John also enjoyed fishing, going up north with Luke and Molle, and taking money from anyone after beating them in a game of cribbage. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and most recently of which he was very proud, a great-great grandfather. John is survived by his six daughters: Lynn (Paul) McCrary, Barb (Harke) (Jeff) Johnson, Shawn (special friend, Mark Dietzler) Hietpas, Brenda (Steve) Lythjohan, Lori Stiltjes, and Kelly (Steve) VerBust; 23 grandchildren: Jeremy (Tammy) Frassetto, Jessica Gravidoni, Amber (Phil) Minton, Mike (Dixilee) Frassetto, Paul McCrary, Marie McCrary, Katie (Aaron) Craig, Dan (Marie) Harke, Josh (Jess) Harke, Luke (Molly) Hietpas, Danielle (special friend, Brett) Lythjohan, Karissa (Eric) Pigott, Madison Lythjohan, Lindsey Stiltjes, Kari Vanden Boogard, Steven (special friend, Keisha) Stiltjes, Matt (special friend, Megan) VerBust, Madison (special friend, Isaac) VerBust, Mason (special friend, Hunter) VerBust, Paige Ness, Maggie VerBust, Charlie VerBust, and Harlow VerBust; 24 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; siblings: Luke (Rosie) Hietpas, Clare (Lee) Van Boxtel, Mark (Linda) Hietpas, Sheila (Clyde) Schepp, Tom (Sheila) Hietpas and Mike (Jo) Hietpas; brothers and sisters-in-law: Russ Harmon, Lois Hietpas, and Carl Peeters; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley; his parents, John and Elizabeth; a son-in-law, Steve Harke; siblings: Don (Dorothy) Hietpas, Joyce (Emmett) McMarrow, June (Bob) Stuyvenberg, Claude Hietpas, Margaret Peeters, Helen Harmon, and Matthew Hietpas; brothers and sisters-in-law: Molle Hietpas, Genevieve (Bill) Lyons, Jacqueline Bergman, Bob (Mary Ellen) Bergman, and Eugene “Buzz” Bergman; and his father and mother-in-law, Peter and Mary (Riechel) Bergman. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Chuch, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating.

Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery on Wednesday, June 20th at 10:00 a.m. For online condolences, please visit www. verkuilenfh.com.
