Obituary for John B. Grennon Cohoes, NY John B. Grennon passed away March 17,2018 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Cohoes March 26, 1932, the son of the late Edward Grennon and Mary Halloran. John served in the Navy Reserves.

John worked for NYSDOT as a bridge and highway engineer retiring in 1995 after 45 years. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alberta Farrigan Grennon, his children John Gary (Ann) Grennon of Eagle River, Alaska, Diane (Larry) Ward of Halfmoon, Susan (Steve) Amyot of Rexford, MaryAnn (Brian) Beaury of Cohoes, Lisa (Gary) Ethier of Cohoes, his Grandchildren Jamie, Darcy, Jennifer, Carolyn, Matt, Dave, Drew, Alexandra, Brian, Zac, Ben, Garrett, his Greatgrandchildren Jackson, Zander, Mason, Barrett, Caden, Landon and Adelynn, siblings Edmund (Patt) Grennon, M. Patricia (Joseph) Savoie, and A. Gretchen (Rudy) Normandin. He also leaves behind sister-in-laws (Sheila and Linda) and a brother-in-law (Lee) along with several nieces and nephews.

John enjoyed traveling, woodworking, tinkering around the house, and taking pictures and videos of his family. He was a tremendous fan of war movies and loved watching sports live or on TV. The family will receive guests from 9-11 am @ Holy TrinityChurch, Vliet Blvd.

Cohoes followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 11am on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery Cohoes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital @stjudes.org To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of John B.
