Odin Sr., 91, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Odin was born in Elizabeth, NJ and lived in Linden for 25 years before settling in Rahway 66 years ago. John was a World War II Navy Veteran receiving the American Theatre Medal and the Victory Medal.

He joined the US Navy at 17 years old to fight in WWII. His mother signed for him. Mr. Odin was a Tool and Die Maker for AK Tool and Die Company for 30 years in Mountainside retiring in 1994.

He loved the NY Giants Football Team and the Brooklyn Dodgers Baseball Team. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Margaret, his son, John and his wife Frances, a daughter, Meg Keller and her husband Wayne, four grandchildren Ian, Trevpr, Ben and Jenna, two sisters, Margie Hurley and Elsie Froustet. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:00 am at Vanderhoven Chapel at Hazelwood Cemetery, 64 Lake Avenue, Clark, NJ.

Family will greet guests from 9 to 11:00 am on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Vanderhoven Chapel at Hazelwood Cemetery. Interment at Hazelwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the directions of The Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home, 275 West Milton Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065.
