Johnson-Harvy, 75 died Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Delaware. Ruth was born in Lincolnton, GA and lived in Rahway for 30 years, Somerset for 10 years before settling in Camden Wyoming, Delaware. Ruth was a Rahway High School Graduate.

Ruth worked at Rahway Hospital for 25 years in various positions retiring in 2005 She worked from 2013 – 2018, part time for the Delaware Department of Insurance in the work place safety program. She was a former District Missionary for the Church of God and Christ (COGIC) 3rd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, Ruth was the First Lady elect of the Mid Atlantic Diocese and a member of the Rahway Emergency Squad. She was a member of the Delaware Foster Grandparent program.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be dearly missed by all. Mrs. Johnson-Harvy is predeceased by her husband, William D. Johnson Sr. who died in 1995, a son, George Kearney who died in 1986. She is survived by her husband of 10 years Bishop Cleveland L. Harvy, her three sons, Theodore Kearney, William D. Johnson Jr., Edward M. Johnson, her four daughters, Ruth E. Duncan “Terry”, Sherri Johnson, Shamera Johnson, Amanda Johnson, five grandchildren, Antione, Dion, Da’Vonne, William III, Niyah, a great grand daughter Lakota, her two brothers, George Mars, Allen Baley, her sister, Elizabeth Baley.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Service will take place Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Agape Family Worship Center, 501 East Hazelwood Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065. Visitation will be Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 4-6 pm at Agape Family Worship Center.

Interment Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, NJ at 11:00 am Monday, March 25th, 2019. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home, 275 West Milton Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065.
