Obituary for John Edward Merrill III John Edward Merrill III, 62, of Henderson, Kentucky succumbed to cancer surrounded by his family on April 12th, 2018. John was born June 24th, 1955 in Brookville, Ohio to John Edward and Patricia (Myers) Merrill Jr He graduated from Brookville High School in 1974 and from Oakland City College in 1981.

He married the former Connie Jones in Huntingburg, Indiana. In 1983, John was hired as a media specialist at Henderson Community College where he spent over 30 years as a dedicated employee. John was a devoted family man.

His whole world was his wife, 3 children, 2 sons-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law, and 2 grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents. John is survived by his wife Connie of 37 years, daughter Megan (Matt) Kem of Hopkinsville, daughter Morgan (Kenny) Creech of Louisville, son John E. (Jackie) Merrill IV of Owensboro, two grandchildren Lilly and Charlie Kem, and 3 sisters: Michele Heindl of Cincinnati, OH, Jonelle Brown of Englewood, OH, and Amy Erdman of Greensburg, PA.

A special thanks to the Oncology Department and St. Anthony’s Hospice at Methodist Hospital for their loving care and support. Relatives and friends are invited to John’s Life Celebration from 3:00 PM until the service time on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 6:00 PM with Reverend Mary Wrye officiating.
