Rhinebeck- John H. Grady Jr., 76, of Rhinebeck, NY, passed away on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Born in New York City on September 3, 1942, he was the son of the late John H. and Christine (Solomon) Grady Sr. John was an active member of the Good Shepherd Church in Rhinebeck as well as the Knights of Columbus, Council 6111, Hyde Park. In his life he managed a Pergament Home Center and was a retail manager for Lowes in Kingston.

In his retirement he worked construction and helped his son, Jason, become established as building contractor. John is survived by wife Joan (Fregosi) Grady of Clinton Corners; three sons John A. (Lauren) Grady of Milan, Jeffrey B. (Michelle) of Manhatta, Jason T. (Nicole) Grady of Red Hook; six grandchildren, Collin, Alexander, Giovanni, Leonardo, Logan and Peyton; two sisters Meg Grey and Susanne Donovan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Bruce.

Calling Hours are Thursday, 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market st. , Rhinebeck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 1:00 PM, at the Good Shepherd Church, 3 Mulberry St., Rhinebeck.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Rhinecliff.
