John Isaac Long, 82, of Bethel School Rd, Midland, NC, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018, at PruittHealth Town Center, Harrisburg, NC. He was born, September 19, 1935 in Cabarrus County to the late Roy Mack Long and Carrie Reid Long. John was educated in the Cabarrus County Schools.

He served in the US Army and was formerly employed with Overnight Transportation. Services will be held Sunday, April 29 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana Street, Kannapolis, NC. Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 PM, with funeral services at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Stanley Gardens of Memory in Albemarle, NC.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Grier Long. Those left to cherish fond memories include nieces and nephews, Robert V. Alexander (Iris) of Midland, Rochelle Alexander of Concord, Pamela Bennett (Dennis) of Midland, Russie Alexander of Sterling, VA, Reggie Davis of Kannapolis, James Ray Long (Kathy) of Newnan, GA and Michael Stafford (Levora) of Houston, TX; special friend, Marva Miller of Concord and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
