Obituary for John “Jake” W. Wright “On Tuesday, October 2, 2018, John W. “Jake” Wright passed away at age 94. Jake was born on August 4, 1924 in North Wildwood, NJ to Thomas J. and Edna (O’Donnell) Wright. After graduating from Middle Township High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and fought in the European Theater during World War II.

After the war he went on to own various bars including the Shore Bar and the Ugly Mug in Cape May. On July 14, 1945, he married his first wife Helen L. Garrison. After the departure of his first wife, September 13, 2004, from this world; he married his second wife, Barbara Ross on March 16, 2006 and she therefore departed from this world on February 27, 2013.

John is survived by his great nephews Mark Robert Le Munyon, Drew and Jacob Sterling; his nephew Steve Garrison and his family, and his niece Sharon Lee Kustra and her husband Mark Jefferey Le Munyon, as well as several distant cousins. A private service will be held at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery at a time and place to be determined by the family. “John was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit”.
